Located in the Edmondson Village area of West Baltimore, Rognel Heights is a neighborhood with a rich history, a spirit of perseverance, and generations of people who have helped shape its identity.
The Rognel Heights Community Association (RHCA) is a nonprofit neighborhood organization dedicated to neighborhood revitalization, community participation, civic engagement, safety, beautification, and building meaningful connections among neighbors.
But our purpose reaches beyond improving streets and maintaining properties.
We are working to build a community that people can feel.
A community where children are embraced, encouraged, and guided toward their potential. Where our youth are not simply viewed as the leaders of tomorrow, but recognized as valued members of our community today.
A community where seniors are honored for their wisdom, respected for their contributions, and surrounded by the care and connection they deserve.
A community where families feel safe, neighbors look out for one another, and people experiencing hardship know that someone cares.
A community where diversity is welcomed, differences are respected, and every individual — regardless of age, race, faith, background, or circumstance — has a place and a purpose.
We understand that no community is perfect. We will experience challenges, disagreements, and moments of uncertainty. Yet we believe that our differences do not have to divide us. Through patience, communication, forgiveness, and mutual respect, we can learn from one another and continue growing together.
Our vision is not simply to live in Rognel Heights, but to live together in Rognel Heights.
To replace isolation with connection.
To replace fear with hope.
To replace indifference with compassion.
To replace division with understanding.
To create peaceful spaces for reflection, opportunities for young people to thrive, meaningful connections for seniors, and a neighborhood where pride is reflected in both our surroundings and our relationships.
We recognize that lasting change does not always begin with a large project or a government initiative. Sometimes it begins with a smile, a conversation, a helping hand, or one neighbor deciding to care.
One act of kindness can touch a household. One caring household can inspire a block. One united block can transform a neighborhood.
This is how we envision Rognel Heights growing — one person, one relationship, one act of love, and one block at a time.
Whether you have lived in Rognel Heights for fifty years or moved here yesterday, whether you are young or young at heart, whether you come with ideas, experience, questions, or simply a desire to belong — there is a place for you here.
You do not have to be perfect. You do not have to have all the answers. You only need a willingness to care, to connect, and to contribute in whatever way you can.
Our history tells us where we have been. Our perseverance reminds us of what we have overcome. But our unity, compassion, and commitment to one another will determine the legacy we leave behind.
We invite you to walk with us, share your voice, offer your gifts, and become part of a neighborhood where community is not simply something we talk about — it is something we practice every day.
Welcome to Rognel Heights.
Where love is our foundation, kindness is our language, unity is our strength, and every neighbor is part of our purpose.
